During the winter months it's imperative to keep your skin moisturized. It can easily dry out and flake especially those with dry/sensitive skin. Foundation goes on best when the skin is supple or dewy. Cream/stick foundation are easier to buff into the skin but powder foundation atop dry skin can look ashen and "cakey". So use a moisturizer daily and I would recommend an eye cream just to "hydrate" around your eyes and "wake" them up, or if you have puffiness/dark circles, an eye cream is awesome in diminishing it's appearance and helping it to fade away!
I wanted to give you all step by step instruction on how you can apply your foundation during cold weather/winter months.
Step 1: wash your face
Step 2: moisterize your face, neck and under eye area
Step 3: spray your face with MAC fix plus (you can substitute with any rejuvenating face spray or skip step altogether)
Step 4: apply your foundation
Step 5: using a damp sponge buff and blend foundation into your skin
Step 6: put on concealer over blemishes, discolored areas, under eye area, or hyper-pigmentation
Step 7: set concealer and foundation with powder foundation
Step 8: spray your face with MAC fix plus for a dewy look (same as step #3 you can substitute or skip step altogether)
MOISTURE! MOISTURE! MOISTURE! as long as you understand this is imperative to your skin and makeup look for this cold and dry winter then you'll be fine. These images below are brought to you by Google Images and showcases a "dewy" look.
BLOSSOMING TIP: Keep a lil sample bottle of your favorite skin moisturizer and if you notice your makeup looks dry just apply the moisturizer lightly to those dry areas and "pat" into your skin! Who said you CANT place moisturizer over makeup....they're WRONG!
Hope you enjoyed!
Until Next Time,
Later Blossoms!!!
