Bravo Sherry! I applaud your boldness to speak up about this issue and bring it to the forefront! I'm also a freelance mua, vlogger, & blogger. I do this all as a labor of love- my love for makeup & beauty! I've never done this to see how many subscribers &/or followers I could attain. I do however tend to agree with the theory of attractive AA bloggers &/or vloggers having more subscribers &/or followers based on their appearances and not necessarily for the quality & content of their videos & blog posts. And hear me when I say I'm not "hating" or putting down anybody's efforts in this great big ever-growing industry- if you will. There's room for us all and we should be well & diversely represented. I may do my own response to your video- I just subscribed to your channel- because again this issue needs to be brought forth.
@Lady K thanks for viewing and commenting. This IS a problem in the Youtube community but its an even BIGGER problem in society. We are visual by nature but way to driven on what "looks we deem socially acceptable & attractive". We all must make a collective effort to continue to support and show, as you so eloquently put it "diversely represented industry"
