IMATS NY 2011: DAY 2: MY MAKEUP & OUTFIT!

Hey Blossoms,

So after the excitement of IMATS DAY 1 I was eager to keep it going. I wanted a fun but more casual less outrageous outfit than the day before. Now I'm no fashionista but lately I believe my mind has started processing colors and prints differently than it used to. I was very pleased with the final outcome.

Here's MY MAKEUP & OUTFIT

WHAT I'M WEARING

Mexx White Blazer
H & M Leopard Print off the shoulder t-shirt
Urban Outfitters high- waisted jeans( I have a thing for high waist items)
Lucky Brand Platform Sandals
A PEDICURE with fire engine red Essie Nail Polish (actually I'm not sure of the name of the color lol I'm super ticklish and dread pedicures so I had to include it!)
H & M animal tooth & coin long "old gold" chain
Bakers huge "old gold" flower ring with rhinestone center
Random long dangling cream & "old gold" link earrings
Random faux red leather clutch

...and I decided to keep my cream colored Forever 21 cloth flower hair accessory as a "signature" being that I was the only one in the entire venue with on DAY 1.

My hair is pulled into a high afro puff. I love my afro puff!..the 2 strand twist out from DAY 1 didn't last unfortunately. I'm sure as I gain length my hair styles will last longer. With all the shrinkage it's rare I'm able to wear any twist out/knot out more than a day. But I'm not complaining!

As for my makeup, I first did a simple brown smokey eye and then covered my entire lid and inner tear duct with gold glitter. My cheeks and lips were kept neutral.

A lovely lady at Royal & Langnickel booth made mention that I have "all the best earrings". I beg to differ but thanks lady! I believe I received just as many compliments on this makeup (both inside and outside) IMATS that I may just do a Youtube makeup tutorial on it....with a twist!

IMATS is officially done! So are my blog posts on it! It's a WRAP PEOPLE! New makeup...different clothes..same time next year ya'll

IMATS NY 2011: DAY 2: WHAT I SAW & WHO I MET!!

It's no secret most people attended only IMATS Day 1 but there were still quite a few awesome people I met and even a few I missed ( *sad face* )

Now here's WHO I MET:

The AMAZING: Erin of Scandalous Beauty! She remembered me from the Twitter chats we participate in. She is an awesome blogger and even has a Youtube channel! So personable and sweet with a GREAT smile. definitely a highlight to have met her!

Kia, of Yummy411 and I. She was so soft spoken and sweet.

While waiting for another Youtube guru to finish a conversation before I intervened to ask for an autograph and a photo. I spotted Miss Teen USA! It was awesome! I was immediately propelled back to when I was in either 1st or 2nd grade and Miss USA (or was it Miss America) came to my elementary school and I was in awe of her poise and grace as she sat in front of us on our school's assembly stage while my best friend sang with the glee club to her...but I digress. She was lovely. She even wanted a photo with the youtube guru herself. So she snapped a quick one with me first. How awesome!

Youtube makeup guru, Pertrilude. He was so kind to sign the back of a photograph autographed & given to me by his friend, Queen of Blending, which was a nice collage of pictures of her, EnkoreMakeup, Xsparkage, Purzebuzz and JulieG713 on the front. He also posed for this picture. He had the best smelling cologne on too! All through IMATS only my sense of sight, touch and slightly hearing lol were peaked so when my sense of smell came to mind after a whiff of his great smelling cologne I had to compliment him!

My best friend (and IMATS NY 2011 assistant lol) pictured here with Miss Teen USA. I also used to joke and say my bff has a Miss America smile, because she has the perfect smile for EVERY photo..looking at her smile compared to Miss Teen USA (who I'm sure smiles a WHOLE LOT!) I would say my judgement was accurate lol!

This woman came a long way to attend IMATS and I'm sad to say I can't remember her name. We had a brief meeting as she was busy mingling too. If you see this or my followers know of her please help me refresh my memory.

Mr. INGLOT! I feel like he "knows" me now. lol! I spoke with him at the Grand Opening in Chelsea, NY and then again IMATS DAY 1. I asked him for a photo and he said "Tomorrow I will have a professional photographer and I will definitely take a photograph with you then." When I saw him on IMATS DAY 2 I walked over to him and before I said a word, he smiled and said "See, the photographer is right here." I laughed and told him I was going to "demand" a photo that time and wouldn't have taken no for an answer. I also asked him to say HELLO TO MY BLOSSOMS on film which he gladly did (again! he says hey in the grand opening video) See that video of IMATS DAY 2 HERE! It was very nice of him and I LOVE INGLOT PRODUCTS!!! As the IMATS DAY 2 came to an end I decided to do one last go round and spotted Celebrity Makeup Artist, Kevin James Bennett and Youtube Makeup Guru, Queen of Blending. She's shown in IMATS DAY 1 post as well as IMATS DAY 1 youtube video. Sadly I didn't get a close up of her makeup. It does look oddly familiar so she may have a similar tutorial up of the look. Of course it was a yellow gold glitter and royal blue cut crease look. I had gold glitter on my lid too! What a coincidence!

IMATS NY 2011: DAY 2: WHAT I PURCHASED!

As promised here's the barrage of IMATS DAY 2 posts and I'm starting off with WHAT I PURCHASED. As you can tell from IMATS NY DAY 1 I hauled my behind off so IMATS DAY 2 was very light but just as important.

Here's WHAT I PURCHASED & WHY:

This is 2 separate purchases. First the bundle of false 100% human hair eyelashes and secondly, the clear zippered bag. Prom season and bridal season are upon us and requests for false eyelash applications are increasing so I bought about 30 pairs (5-6 styles). I love sturdy, clear , zippered bags its easier to see what you need and great for organizing your kit. I bought 2 in this large rectangular size(I made it just in time to snag the last 2 a woman behind me wanted them too!! Both days seemed to have been my lucky days for grabbing the last items left!) and 2 smaller bags in a more square shape.

EyeKandy glitter and liquid sugar. These glitters are extremely versatile. I actually pre-ordered another 3 glitters and another bottle of liquid sugar (they had sold out at the show) It shipped yesterday and should be here soon. Be sure to stay tuned to my Youtube channel for all the amazing things I'll do with this product!

A necessity!!! Disposable mascara wands. Disposable makeup tools in general are necessities but these I tend to run out quicker. I believe this is a bundle of over 120 wands!

I pictured the larger rectangular bag first and I packed it with my false eyelashes. These are the 2 smaller square ones. I've since packed one with eye liners and jumbo eyeshadow pencils and the other with eye primers, liquid liners, gel/cream liners, paint pots and mascaras. These bags are awesome because they can fit a lot, are made with sturdy plastic and have a strong zipper. They also match lovely with my all black Pro Zuca bag!

Here's the second large rectangular shape clear zipper bag I purchased which I filled with Jessie's Girl lip liners. The woman at the booth was so kind and gave me an amazing price. I believe I purchased 23 in all!

So I purchased brushes from 3 different companies:

Royal & Langnickel (with the silver rim)

Cici Brushes (with the black rim)

EyeKandy Cosmetics (The powder brush and brushes included in brush roll)

My favorite brush of all is the Super Foundation brush from Royal & Langnickle it is soo soft and the thick handle and denseness will make for a super smooth application. I love applying foundations with sponges but this brush made me fall in love with foundation brushes all over again!

My second favorite brush is the Round Top Foundation brush from Cici Brushes. It's the best of a powder brush/kabuki brush all in one but rounder. This is going to be awesome for setting foundation or applying finishing/translucent powders. Its dense enough even for applying cream foundation. I love a super versatile brush. I wish it was bigger but I don't mind putting in extra work to get the job done.

My third (but certainly not least) favorite brushes are all my "lip brushes"(from all 3 companies)..some are actually tiny concealer brushes but have rounded edges that taper off at the tip. PERFECT for applying any lip product with precision. Again another versatile product. I bought dupes of many of these brushes, especially the eyeshadow brushes, one can NEVER have to many of those.

I'm very happy with the brushes I picked out. Many of them remind me of ones I already own. I plan on buying some really high-end brushes at The Makeup Show. I want butter-smooth brushes that feel like silk on your face. These brushes I bought are soft and smooth but I'm always on the search for bigger and better so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

I purchased over 30 brushes!!!!!

What's not pictured here is my Pro Pack from BeautySoClean which is a makeup sanitizing company...I pre-ordered it at the show since it sold out. I will be receiving 250 makeup sanitizing wipes, large bottle of sanitizing mist(with approx. 1500 "sprays" in it) and large bottle of sanitizing brush cleaner. I am excited to finally try their products. This company is taking the makeup world by storm and totally revolutionizing how we clean our makeup!
